The Hague City Center is the inner city around the Binnenhof, with the neighborhoods Voorhout, Kortenbos, Uilebomen and Zuidwal. Ministries, embassies, the city hall and, temporarily, the Senate are all here. Kortenbos is home to Noordeinde Palace, the working palace of King Willem-Alexander. You rent office space here in a historic building, an office tower or a business center.
The Hague’s inner city has three clearly different places for an office. Which one suits you depends on your clients and the image you want.
The Lange Voorhout is one of the oldest and best-known streets in The Hague, with many national monuments and linden trees planted in 1536. This street is home to the embassies of Switzerland and Spain, Hotel Des Indes and Escher in Het Paleis, among others. Lange Voorhout 34, the former Supreme Court building, temporarily houses the Senate (Eerste Kamer) and part of the Council of State. An office in this area is usually in a historic townhouse.
The Wijnhavenkwartier lies between The Hague Central Station and the Spuiplein, with the Turfmarkt as the walking route from the station to the inner city. The Ministries of Justice and Security and of the Interior sit in two 146-meter towers on the Turfmarkt. In a converted ministry tower, Leiden University rents space for its Campus The Hague. Around the Spuiplein stand the city hall (Spui 70), the Amare theater and the Public Library. On Deskfinder you find office space on the Spui and a business center on the Kalvermarkt here, among other listings.
Around the Parkstraat in the Museumkwartier and the Zeestraat in Willemspark, Deskfinder mainly lists business centers with desks. You also find this type of space on the Koninginnegracht and the Alexanderstraat. Like the inner city, these neighborhoods belong to the Centrum district.
| Type of office space | Where | Suitable for |
|---|---|---|
| Office in a historic townhouse | Lange Voorhout and surroundings | Advisory firms and organizations looking for a prestigious address |
| Office space and business center by the towers | Spui and Kalvermarkt | Companies that work a lot with government and often travel by train |
| Desk in a business center | Parkstraat, Koninginnegracht, Alexanderstraat and Zeestraat | Freelancers, small teams and foreign companies that want a Hague address |
The Binnenhof has been closed for renovation since October 2021. According to the latest planning, the work is expected to be finished in summer 2031. Until then, the House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) sits in the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Bezuidenhoutseweg, in Haagse Hout. Do you meet with MPs regularly? Then an office around The Hague Central Station or in Bezuidenhout may be more practical than a building on the Voorhout.
The easiest way to reach The Hague City Center is by train. From The Hague Central Station you walk into the inner city along the Turfmarkt, and The Hague Hollands Spoor is also in the Centrum district. If you drive, you will need a parking garage. Q-Park has these parking garages in the inner city, among others:
Looking for an office where you can drive up to the door, with on-site parking? Then the Binckhorst, with the Rotterdamsebaan, is probably a better fit.
Choosing between a townhouse on the Voorhout, a desk on the Parkstraat or an office near the Spui? This is how Deskfinder helps:
