Rotterdam is a sought-after location for companies and entrepreneurs. This modern port city is home to beautiful spots and equally unique office buildings. Whether your Rotterdam desk looks out over the water winding through the city or over a skyline of striking architecture, we’ve rounded up the most beautiful locations from our portfolio for you.

A view of the Maas from Wilhelminakade

Wilhelminakade is a standout part of the city. The buildings along this quay form Rotterdam’s recognisable skyline. The street is half a kilometre long and was named around 1900 after Queen Wilhelmina. The area has a rich history, with the former home of the Holland America Line as its highlight. The Holland America Line’s headquarters still stands on Wilhelminakade and has been known since the 1990s as Hotel New York. You’ll also find De Rotterdam here, designed by architect Rem Koolhaas, along with the well-known Nieuwe Luxor Theater.

Wilhelminakade 955

One of the tallest and most striking buildings in Rotterdam is the World Port Center on Kop van Zuid. This office building sits at the end of Wilhelminapier, right next to Hotel New York. The 124-metre-high building has 32 floors and was designed by the renowned British architect Sir Norman Foster, known for projects such as London Stansted Airport and the extension of the Reichstag in Berlin. What makes it extra special is that this was the very first high-rise on Wilhelminakade!

World Port Center features a new staff restaurant, full-service reception, security, a spacious lounge and a bakery cafe. With its striking, distinctly Rotterdam view, this is one of our favourite unique office buildings in the port city.

De Rotterdam, Wilhelminakade 139

De Rotterdam is a true eye-catcher on Rotterdam’s skyline. The building was designed by Rotterdam-born architect Rem Koolhaas in the late 1990s, though construction didn’t begin until 2009 and was completed in 2013. By now, the building is one of Rotterdam’s best-known towers. The three towers house apartments, a hotel and offices. The office space boasts modern meeting rooms, extensive reception services, a parking garage and an espresso bar serving the best coffee — all perfect for the modern entrepreneur, employee and freelancer. With a beautiful view over the Maas and Rotterdam’s cruise terminal, this is one of the city’s most complete and unique office buildings.

A view of the city centre from Blaak

Another well-known Rotterdam street is Blaak, located in the city centre. The street stands out for its broad layout, lined on both sides with towering buildings. Most of these tall buildings are offices, which is why Blaak is regarded as the city’s business district. At one end of the street lies the train and metro station of the same name, whose entrance is marked by a striking transparent saucer-shaped structure. Right next to Blaak station are the Markthal and the famous Cube Houses, designed by architect Piet Blom.

Blaak 555

This office building has one of the most striking silhouettes in Rotterdam’s Central Business District. The building is named FIVE55 and offers more than 28,000 m2 of office space. During a recent renovation, the floors were transformed into open-plan spaces that entrepreneurs and companies can fit out entirely to their own taste and needs, effectively creating their own world. The building’s architecture divides it into a lower base and a tower, with the base offering large open spaces and the tower featuring smaller floors. That makes this building perfectly suited to both large and small companies. Can you already picture yourself here?

Wijnhaven 3

‘Het Witte Huis’ (The White House) is a distinctive, characterful office villa built in the Art Nouveau style. The building is a striking presence in the Blaak area, combining a fantastic look with the technology and facilities of a contemporary office building. Het Witte Huis was Rotterdam’s first skyscraper and is one of the few buildings in the city centre to have survived the bombing of Rotterdam. The building’s facade is decorated with various ornaments, including floral motifs and winged dragons. With 11 floors and a height of roughly 43 metres, this office offers an unrivalled view of the city, especially from the flat roof terrace! Get in touch with us today to arrange a viewing!
