Building
Rainbow Offices was designed by Sjoerd Soeters of PHP architecten and built between 1997-2000 by BAM & Ballast Nedam. To compensate for the site’s lack of warmth and enclosure, the design features a colorful street façade assembled from smaller sections. The various colors combine to form an abstract whole. A distinctive feature is the colorful colonnade, which allows visitors to reach the shops, offices, the transfer hub and the station under cover.

The colored structure is interrupted by two natural-stone office buildings positioned perpendicular to the stadium. These two volumes mark the stadium’s southern entrance and form a square forecourt. The base building effectively acts as an urban infill, filling the space between the stadium and the public realm.

Rainbow Offices is located in the heart of the Amsterdam Southeast district. The building enjoys a favorable position on a spacious pedestrian promenade, directly connected to the Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA metro and train station. This area is characterized by a diverse range of offices, shopping options at Woonmall Villa ArenA and entertainment options at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, Ziggo Dome, Pathé Arena cinema and AFAS Live. Accessibility
