Spoorzone Hanzeland is the office location right next to Zwolle station, between the city center and Zwolle-Zuid. It currently mainly houses central government services and other public service providers. The municipality’s Stadskantoor and the headquarters of the IJsselland police are also in Hanzeland. Because of its many high-rise buildings, some people call Hanzeland the ‘Manhattan of Zwolle’.

• The southern tunnel exit of the station brings you straight onto Hanzelaan.
• Since 2019 the bus station has been on this south side of the station.
• Since 5 September 2025 a footbridge on the west side of the station has linked the city center with the Spoorzone and Hanzeland.

Oosterenk on the Ceintuurbaan

Oosterenk is an employment area on the Ceintuurbaan, on the east side of Zwolle. It has offices, educational institutions and healthcare institutions. Isala hospital is the largest employer in Oosterenk. By car you reach the area via the A28, the N35 and the N340. The municipality wants to keep good offices in Oosterenk and, in principle, does not support plans to give existing offices another use.

Voorsterpoort along the A28

Voorsterpoort, also called Spooldereiland, is a modern office complex with a business look along the A28. The municipality aims this visible location mainly at larger companies and regional offices in business services, energy, IT, engineering and manufacturing. The IJsseltoren on Grote Voort stands right by the slip roads of the Zwolle-Zuid junction.

Getting to Zwolle via Zwolle station and the A28

You can reach Zwolle by train from many directions and by car via the A28.

• Train: lines from Amersfoort, Deventer, Enschede, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Emmen, Kampen and Lelystad, among others, meet at Zwolle station. Intercity trains run to Utrecht Central Station, The Hague Central Station, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Arnhem and, via Almere, to Amsterdam Zuid and Schiphol, among other places.
• Hanzelijn: since December 2012 trains have run on the Hanzelijn between Zwolle and Lelystad.
• Car: the A28 runs from Utrecht via Amersfoort and Zwolle to Groningen. Within Zwolle, the N35 forms part of the ring road as the Ceintuurbaan.
