Vaanpark: four business parks along the A29
Vaanpark is a business area on the west side of the A29. It consists of four parks, Vaanpark I to IV, between the A29 and the Carnisser Baan. The main access road is the Carnisser Baan. The Vaanpark zoning plan (adopted in 2011, re-adopted in 2013) describes two zones:
- Western strip along the Carnisser Baan: small-scale, prestigious businesses in small to medium-sized buildings. This strip forms the transition to the residential area west of the Carnisser Baan.
- Eastern half along the A29: companies with large buildings, such as high-end distribution and light industry. Vaanpark I, II and III are visible from the A29.
Vaanpark I is closest to the A29 exit. Vaanpark II is home to IKEA Barendrecht, which according to the zoning plan serves the entire Rotterdam region.
Dierenstein and the Stationstuinen
The business area around Barendrecht station is changing. East of the station, the Stationstuinen business park is being converted into a housing site over the coming years. According to the draft Dierensteinweg zoning plan (November 2023), companies from that site will get a new commercial building between the A15 and Dierensteinweg, next to the railway between Rotterdam and Barendrecht.

Getting to Barendrecht by car, train and tram
By car you arrive via the A15 and A29, which meet at the Vaanplein interchange. Barendrecht station is on the railway between Breda and Rotterdam and is fully covered, inside the Kap van Barendrecht. Since 2004 a tram line has also run to the Carnisselande district, west of the A29.
