Oostenburg is part of the Oostelijke Eilanden (Eastern Islands), which were partly constructed in the IJ and partly dug out of what were then eastward-lying meadows around 1650. In the coming years, Oostenburg will be developed into a new, robust city district with approximately 1,800 homes. There will be a good mix of social, mid-segment and private-sector rental housing, owner-occupied apartments, self-build homes, recreational spots, and hospitality and business activity. The historic core of Oostenburg will be preserved, in the form of the 19th-century Van Gendthallen, the monumental Werkspoorhal, and the old quay walls. The former industrial site Oostenburg North is one of the Eastern Islands. The site is located between the Amsterdam/Utrecht railway line, the Oostenburgervaart, the Oostenburgerdwarsvaart and the Wittenburgervaart. Tram line 26 at Rietlandpark takes you to Amsterdam CS within 3 minutes. Tram line 10 reaches Weesperplein, with its metro and tram connections, within 4 minutes.

By car
About 5 minutes further on is Leidseplein. By car, take exit S114 on the A10, after which you can park next to the building in the parking garage within 3 minutes. It is possible to take out a subscription in the Q-park parking garage.
